FEMA: Disaster recovery centers open in Bertie and the counties of Cumberland - 7thSpace Interactive (press release)

FEMA: Disaster Recovery Centers opened in Bertie Cumberland counties anddisaster recovery centers opened Thursday in the counties of Bertie and Cumberland to help those whose homes or businesses were affected by the recent storms and tornadoes. Centres will be open from 8 am to 7 pm, seven days a week at the following addresses:

Bertie County
Strengthening communities Colerain
106 W. Academy St.
Colerain, NC 27924

Cumberland County
Department of Social Services
1St floor conference room
1225 Ramsey St.
Fayetteville, NC 28301

Several centres will soon open in other counties designated for assistance.

The representatives of the Division of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (North Carolina) management of emergencies and other agencies are available to explain the survivors of programs and help aid applies with the disaster. Specialists of recovery also will help the survivors of the disaster come into contact with other programs that may be able to help.

Before they go to a centre, people with storm losses should register with FEMA online at www.DisasterAssistance.gov or by phone at 800-621-FEMA (3362).  Those with a speech or hearing impaired may call (TTY) 800-462-7585. Help is available in all languages.

People affected by the storms may also apply to federal assistance directly via a web enabled mobile device or smartphone. Visit m.fema.gov and click on the link "apply online for federal assistance."

Of federal disaster assistance can include grants for the assistance of rental and repairs, low-cost loans from the Small Business Administration of the effects of the disaster to cover the losses not insured property and other programs to help them recover.

The mission of FEMA is in support of our citizens and first responders to ensure that, as that nation we work together to build, maintain and improve our ability to prepare, protect against, respond to recover and mitigate all hazards.
